Sammendrag
In this paper I will be exploring my own personal analog photographic practice, through the use of contemporary aesthetic theory. The goal of this is to achieve agreater understanding of the presence of analog photography in a contemporarycontext, and increase my consciousness of my own practice. I will first define theconcept of analog, and the aspects of it. Then by exploring the aesthetic theory ofDissensus, I will find its relation to the analog process in its conflict with thecontemporary social media culture. Further the aesthetic category of interesting willgive a understanding of the weakness related to aesthetic judgement, and theweakness of analog, and how they both can become strengths. Finally I will then beapplying this to a practice based research method, and create a “interestingdissensus” method that gives names and concepts to various aspects of my ownpractice, and can be further used by others.
