Sammendrag
Technology evolves exponentially, and technological aids follow the same course. Manufacturing
methods in the construction industry are also constantly evolving, and a company that wishes to
follow this development is Contiga. Contiga is the leading supplier of prefabricated concrete
elements in Norway. For several years they have used the Lean methodology, and with this
methodology mapped where in the manufacturing process there is room for improvement.
Prefabrication has become more and more common in recent years, and innovative solutions and
methods have also come.
In the process of manufacturing the concrete elements, models are constructed of the elements. The
models prepared have very high accuracy, and a lot of information. This information provides the
basis for increased use of BIM and the tools associated with this. Prior to this task, a preliminary
project was made where information gathered about what BIM in production could contribute.
Contiga is the leading supplier of concrete elements in Norway, and they wanted to test some of the
findings.
Together with COWI, EDR, Kamstål AS and PERI, the possibility of prefabrication of reinforcement
and formwork was investigated using CNC machines. The CNC machines get the required information
directly from the model. Models developed by Contiga and COWI designers already contain all
geometric information, and reinforcement is modeled in model. The desire is therefore to make use
of this information to a much greater extent. Furthermore, it is also considered which other
technologies can be drawn into element production. With the help of Øyvind Svaland from EDR, the
use of AR / MR is also used for visualization, quality assurance and communication.
