dc.description.abstract | This text is an ethnographic study of recognition as motivation to self-realization among the
homeless and socially vulnerable. It is based on Axel Honneth's theory of recognition, where
an interaction in the recognition between the three spheres the private, the legal and solidarity
is a prerequisite if self-realization should be possible to achieve. Self-realization is understood
here as man's sovereign right to the choice of path in life and hence the good life. The
research is done during a six-week field period at street magazine Hus Forbi in Copenhagen,
Denmark. The interaction between sellers and the employees are observed from a socialpedagogical
point of view, but without a potential change in focus and only in terms of what
recognition can provide and the opportunities that may lie therein. | no_NO |
