This report is a master’s thesis with the main topic of fiber reinforced concrete. This area ofresearch is relevant due to demands of a decrease in the emissions of greenhouse gases, demandsfor rational execution, a need for an improvement of HSE conditions and shortage of labor. Fiberreinforcement used as a substitute or supplement to regular mild steel in concrete has long been limited to just a few areas of application. Steel fiber is the type of fiber that has been most widely used in cast-on-site concrete structures like slab-on-ground or in sprayed concrete. In this master’sthesis the use of basalt and steel fiber in load-carrying concrete structures was investigated through literature, experimental tests and calculation methods from available guidelines for fiber reinforced concrete. The calculation methods were collected from NB38, COIN, DAfStb, EC2, Annex L to thenew EC2, NB15 and TR34.
