Abstract

In this thesis, my main focus has been to view cases of child abuse from four different perspectives; child care, child protectiveservices, the children’s house and the police. I have looked at the investigative phaseof child abuse cases from the four perspectives of Bolman and Deal, (2018).The empirical data has been gathered through interviews withfourrespondents. These fourrespondents havebeen involved in child abuse cases, and have experience in this field. Each respondent was part of a qualitative interview basedon a question guide and a case. The interviews forms the foundation for the research material used in the discuss of this thesis.I found a need for more research when it comes to the investigative phaseof child abuse cases. Especially regarding the professions core competance and inter diciplinary competance. The master thesis provides details of weaknesses inhandling child abuse cases. These cases seems without clear leadership from my empirical reasoning. The thesis gives an insight into the lack of effective sharing of knowledge and information across the respective professions.
