dc.description.abstract	As of 01.01.2020, there will (most likely) be a slight rearrangement in the Norwegian counties. The two current counties Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder will be combined as one new county. This thesis project discusses the debate in the local and regional papers that have been concerning which name will be best suited for a new county. The debate has mostly discussed the two names Sørlandet and Agder, and both sides of the debate have been active in the newspapers. The question I’ll answer in the paper is if disagreement around the place name Sørlandet will affect the choice. I’ve chosen 40 texts to analyze, written both by the newspapers and letters to the editor. I analyzed the texts in a Critical Discourse Analysis.	nb_NO
