dc.description.abstract | In this thesis we explore the area of general purpose computing on GPU, by looking at how the GPU can be utilized to accelerate transport in reservoir simulations. We implement a general finite volume scheme and a high resolution scheme with bilinear reconstruction. We look into how the result is affected by using single precision instead of double as the GPUs today are best suited for single precision. We propose a model for a corner-point grid solver for GPU. Last we look at a heterogeneous model where we run a pressure solver in parallel on the CPU. | en |
