dc.description.abstract | Kristiansand municipality has decided to implement a purposeful strategy for equality, diversity and inclusion in its public sector. Working towards this goal has been a political decision, however; decisions do not matter if they are not implemented properly. Therefore the topic of this thesis has been to research how leaders with hiring responsibilities in the public sector of the municipality are approaching the challenge. Our approach has been based on qualitative research methods, where we have carried out in-depth interviews with leaders from various sectors within the municipality. In addition; a combination of scientific research documents, textbooks in the field and data from secondary sources, eg: newspaper articles - forms the basis of this thesis. The data has been analyzed through our thesis’s theoretical framework. Based on the analysis of the topic it can be argued that the goals of the municipality has not yet been achieved due to leaders of the various sectors interpreting the strategy as optional, leading to an absence of concrete measures to achieve them. | en_US |
