A semantic web approach for dealing with university courses

Abstract

Semantic web gives intelligence and meaning to the web. Ontology is primary and most important part of semantic web because it focuses on relationship rather than information. Semantics in Educational knowledge domain is very emerging. Some of the work is already done [1][2] but there is still a lot more to be done. This Master thesis gives solution for developing of ontology in the field of educational domain i.e. University. We discussed the framework of engineering ontology by the use of Protégé which is very user friendly and easy to handle tool. The thesis describes the implementation of ontology and Querying of ontology to extract the information to make it utilizable for semantic applications to handle. We used protégé 4.2 throught about the report for development of ontology.
