This report deals with key areas of software development in a distributed environment. Distributed computing systems are becoming increasingly more popular, and the demands for functionality are growing accordingly. With distributed systems being used for so many different purposes, and with so many people depending on it to do their jobs, these systems must be stable and robust to continuously serve the users. If the system fails, for example caused by network problems or by application crash, it can in the worst case paralyze the organization. With this as a starting point, we have been looking at technologies for developing distributed systems based on the Windows DNA platform. One issue that we have been working on in particular is mechanisms that provide dynamically recovery from failure. We have learned that by using the right technologies developers can save themselves from a lot of work. After working with Windows DNA during the project period, we feel that it offers a good and solid platform with technologies for developing robust enterprise systems. Our experience is that these technologies are fairly easy to implement, as long as you plan your work well and use a suitable development language.en
