Oppgaven "Knutepunktutvikling på Skullerud: - En studie av unge innbyggeres fortellinger i kontrast til Oslo kommunes og utbyggers perspektiver og forestillinger om stedet" dykker inn i det komplekse landskapet av ungdommens stedsidentitet, deres tilhørighet til stedet og deres rolle i planleggingsprosessen. Dette er analysert med fokus på Skullerud, et område i ytre Oslo, som er utpekt for fremtidsrettet planlegging og knutepunktutvikling av Oslo kommune.
Oppgaven bygges opp rundt to teoretiske rammer: planleggingsteori og stedsteori. Den studerer planleggingens egen historie og utvikling parallelt med fremveksten av økt bevissthet rundt stedsidentitet og tilhørighet, for en helhetlig forståelse av potensielle utfordringer og muligheter i en inkluderende planleggingsprosess. Videre søkes det å forstå hvordan ungdommers stemmer kan bli bedre integrert i utformingen av offentlige rom i knutepunktutvikling og stedsplanlegging for å sikre et mer inkluderende og bærekraftig miljø.
Oppgaven starter med en introduksjon til Skullerud og studiens bakgrunn, før den undersøker relevant teori knyttet til sted, tilhørighet og planleggingsteori, inkludert et blikk på deltagelse og inkludering i planleggingsprosesser. Etter en beskrivelse av den benyttede metoden og metodiske valg, presenterer oppgaven den innsamlede empirien fra forskjellige aktører på Skullerud. Videre blir ungdommens unike fortellinger om Skullerud belyst, før oppgaven konkluderer gjennom en diskusjon rundt kontrasten mellom unge innbyggeres fortellinger og kommunens og utbyggers forestillinger om stedet, med sikte på en langsiktig plan for Skullerud.
Denne studien er av stor relevans i den aktuelle forskningsdiskursen da den tar for seg aktuelle emner som urban fortetning, langsiktig planlegging, knutepunktutvikling, ungdomsmedvirkning i planleggingsprosesser, og vektlegging av både fysiske og sosiale aspekter i stedsutvikling.
Summary
The task "Node Development at Skullerud: - A study of young residents' stories in contrast to the perspectives and conceptions of the place by the municipality of Oslo and the developer" dives into the complex landscape of youth's place identity, their attachment to the place and their role in the planning process. This is analysed with a focus on Skullerud, an area in outer Oslo, which is designated for future-oriented planning and node development by the municipality of Oslo.
The task is built around two theoretical frameworks: planning theory and place theory. It studies the history and development of planning itself, parallel to the emergence of increased awareness around place identity and attachment, for a holistic understanding of potential challenges and opportunities in an inclusive planning process. Furthermore, it seeks to understand how the voices of young people can be better integrated into the design of public spaces in node development and place planning to ensure a more inclusive and sustainable environment.
The task begins with an introduction to Skullerud and the background of the study, before examining relevant theory related to place, attachment, and planning theory, including a look at participation and inclusion in planning processes. After a description of the applied method and methodological choices, the task presents the collected empirical data from different actors at Skullerud. Furthermore, the unique stories of the youth about Skullerud are highlighted, before the task concludes through a discussion around the contrast between the stories of young residents and the municipality's and developer's conceptions of the place, with the aim of a long-term plan for Skullerud.
This study is of great relevance in the current research discourse as it addresses topical issues such as urban densification, long-term planning, node development, youth participation in planning processes, and the emphasis on both physical and social aspects in place development.
