Introduction: Adolescents is a period of significant physical development, including improvements in physical fitness. However, the extent and rate of these changes vary among individuals, and the impact of exercise on this developmental process in young people is not yet fully understood. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between physical fitness, physical conditions, well-being and need-support in young soccer players. Method: 83 adolescent soccer players, consisting of 5 girls, and 78 boys with an average stature of 167.8±10.9cm, weight of 54.0 ±10.8kg, and leg length 0.4 ±0.3 participated in the study. The players were from three different soccer clubs and aged under 13, 15, and 17 years (n=55, n=21, n=7), all from Kristiansand, Norway. The study measured physical performance variables including the Keiser leg press and Counter Movement Jump (CMJ), as well as psychological well-being and need-support using questionnaires. The variables were analyzed using Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA). Results: The results of the canonical correlation analysis showed a significant correlation (p=0.001) between physical conditions and physical performance, and psychological characteristics. A strong positive correlation was observed between physical conditions and physical performance, (p=0.000). Physical conditions and psychological characteristics were also strong and positive (p=0.015), and a strong positive significant correlation were found in physical performance and psychological characteristics (p=0.008). Conclusion: A significant correlation was observed between physical condition, psychological characteristics, and physical performance as measured by the well-being and need-support questionnaires. The correlation between physical condition and psychological characteristics suggests that athletes with better physical attributes are more likely to experience positive well-being and receive support from others. Similarly, the correlation between psychological characteristics and physical performance are more likely to experience higher well-being and receive great support from others. Key word: Soccer, physical condition, physical performance, adolescents, well-being, need-support.
