dc.description.abstractBackground: According to the «Regulations on pseudonymous register for individual health and care statistics»the municipality sector commits itself to registertheir services and patients in the municipalities. Based on this, a registration system was developed which is integrated into the EPR systems used in the municipal sectors. IPLOS is the registry where all data is collected and used for statistics and distribution of earmarked funds. Reporting to the IPLOS registry is an imposed task that can pose a number of challenges for the health personnel who perform the registrations.Purpose:The purpose of the assignment is to investigate which factors can influence the registration of IPLOS in health care personnel in the primary healthcare service.Selection and method: A qualitative approach has been used to elucidate the issue. There have been 11 semi-structured interviews in 3 municipalities in Western Norway. Inclusion criteria for the study involve at least 80% position, and a minimum of 2 years experience with the use of IPLOS. The interview guide is structured according to (2011), the model in a modified version, which is more adapted to health services. The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis and the results are presented in tables.Result: What emerges during the interviews is that most of the informants report on challenges regarding registration. Mostly they talk about challenges by choosing the right numericalvaluesfor IPLOS, but also some talking about systematic challenges with theIPLOS system. Most say they want to be two when registering because of difficulties in choosing the right numerical value. The answers were characterized by the fact that IPLOS is an imposed task, and that the basic understanding of what IPLOS is somewhatfragmented. Several informants say there has been a lack of training and lack of registration routines. The management encourages use but does not always facilitate work with IPLOS.Conclusion:It is difficult to choose the right numerical valuewhen registering IPLOS. There is a great deal of variation in how much training one gets and how much IPLOS is rooted in the management. There are several who feel unsafe on IPLOS registration, and in case of missing routines for registration, each workplace creates their own routines. They report that management gets to do courses and get training but that the employees «on the floor»do not get involved in this.
