dc.description.abstractThe future brings with it an increased number of elderly in need of aid or assistance. One way of meeting these challenges is an increased usage of healthcare technological solutions. Through media, it is illustrated that there have been several unfortunate incidents related to the handling of personal alarm systems. This has happened not only when receiving an alarm at the responsecenter, but also with the turn-out at the place of emergency. The goal with this study is to identify important factors that are necessary to secure the quality at the responsecenters when the alarms are received and how they are forwarded and communicated. This study is a subproject to the interregional research study, M4ALMO. The thesis´ topic question is therefore «What is important to take into account to secure good quality at the response center?» We have chosen to use Delphi study as a method in this research. The Delphi study is based on statements made by experts who considers the future aspects within a certain area. The survey is structured by several stages and these are adjusted and ranked after each round in an attempt to find experiential knowledge and a consensus, the average trend or a dominating trend within a particular theme or topic. Throughout the research, there are five rounds. In total, 22 out of 33 respondents completed every round of the survey. After the survey was ended, the results were put together. The five factors from each question that achieved the highest score created the foundation for discussion. The findings show that it is key to ensure implemented routines and procedures to reveal and handle deviation, a working transfer of information between the responsecenter and handler and the availability of a well implemented decision support. It is therefore necessary with a methodically improvement work to ensure good quality on the services that are being yielded.
