Sammendrag
The term ethnic diversity and diversity is often spoken about and used often in society, especially in the labor market and working environment. We hear about the importance of ethnic diversity in the working environment and what ethnic diversity contributes to the working environment. However, there exist many hindrances or challenges with ethnic diversity and the management of ethnic diversity in the working environment. Globalization and immigration have contributed to a sudden cultural exchange, where people from different corners of the world have been brought closer to one another, where ideas, competence, traditions, and customs are not mixed. Globalization and immigration have resulted in the Norwegian society becoming a more diverse society especially the working environment. The benefits of multiethnic diversity can only be explored positively when leaders are able to identify the factors that hinders inclusive working environment that promotes multiethnic diversity.
The goal of my case study therefore is to identify the hindrances to multiethnic diversity in the working environment. Based on this I have chosen to interview leaders with HR-responsibilities and workers with multiethnic background to find out what they say about the hindrances of multiethnic diversity. Interviewing both leaders and multiethnic migrants will help get more insight and deeper knowledge on the study.
