Evaluation study of the Aquarama-project :Participation via free tickets to Aquarama Bath: A qualitative survey of barriers to participation and how to develop an offer adaptive to the needs of the users. The first goal in this evaluation is to uncover barriers for participation in the projects where families and other in low income families receive free tickets for the swimming facility Aquarama Bad located in Kristiansand. The second goal is to figure out which factors that is crucial for developing a project that is more custom made for the low-income families, and lead to higher participation on this swimming facility. The background for this evaluation is that through the project Nye Mønstre –Trygg Oppvekst has NAV Kristiansand together with project leader developed this free ticket offer with the goal of low-income families to have an experience out of their everyday-life which is positive and where the children will have fun. This project has initially received funding for the years 2016 –2019. Out of the tickets that weregiven in 2017, there wereonly 47 percent of the tickets that wereused. This they know because the municipality only pays for the ones redeemed. In the effectof this fact, it is a desire to find out moreabout the low-income family’s preferences. This has ledto two research questions: 1. What are the barriers to using free tickets in the Aquarama project?and 2. How can it be developed a project better suitable for the targeted group? The theoretical framework consists of two parts, one of the user-perspective, and the last on how the project can beorganized better. There has been made eight interviews with different representatives for organizationsthat in some way receive and/or give out tickets or arrange swimming courses or other happenings where one go together in a group. In this evaluation there are five barriers that are revealed for not using the freetickets: 1. Degree of follow-up, 2. Low influence is affecting the users negative, 3. Challenges with mental health, 4. Challenges with the organization, and 5. Aquarama Bathas destination. For the second research question, there has been revealed four points for making aproject better suitable for the users: 1. Introduce a “survey interview” for anyone who is offered free tickets, 2. Make sure everyone is offered someone to take them to Aquarama Bath, it can be someone from their network or the offer to participate in a group, 3. Offer variety in activities, and 4. Introduce goal and evaluation criteria in the project in order to more easily assess the development and the goal of the projectin the future.nb_NO
