Sammendrag
The aim of this thesis is to gain insight into three teachers ' thoughts about their own
educational videos in mathematics. In addition, I will examine how a course with extensive
use of videos can work in practice. The teachers' production styles will be presented, both in
terms of my observations and their own statements. The structure of a course with the
widespread use of educational videos will be explained, and looked at in terms of observation,
the teachers' considerations, feedback from students and relevant theory.
Qualitative data was collected through interview with the teachers and students, in addition to
observation. The interviews were semi-structured so that the students and teachers could
really get their thoughts out, and only a very simple interview guide was used. Observations
were carried out over a three-week period, where I took part in several classroom situations.
Results worth mentioning are that the three teachers seem to have well-defined justifications
for a lot of the choices that characterize their videos, and their personal styles have clear
parallels to relevant theory. The observed course highlighted parts of the relevant theory, and
it was observed that the structure of the course could counteract some of the problem areas
that were presented.
