Svendsen, C.M. (2021) Innbyggermedvirkning for sosial bærekraftig stedsutvikling? : En casestudie av medvirkning i stedsutviklingen til Lindesnes kommune (Master's thesis). University of Agder, Kristiansand.Sammendrag
In this thesis, I have chosen to look at whether citizen participation is important for a socially sustainable place development. I have chosen to do a case study of Lindesnes municipality. This is a new, complex municipality from 2020, at the southern tip of Norway. This master's thesis is based on social sustainability, place theory and participation, where participation is central. The theoretical parts are in a mutual relationship with each other in the thesis and are all central to the understanding of the complexity of the problem. Qualitative research methods have been used, based on a case study by Lindesnes municipality. Interviews and document analysis have been used to illuminate the issue. Where the analysis discusses the findings against the theoretical framework. The findings show that participation is complex. Majority of the inhabitants, state that they do not feel included in the participation work, and that they do not have knowledge of how to provide input. It is also pointed out that they miss that the ordinary citizen should be heard.
