Background: According to the World Health Organization WHO, more than 264 million people worldwide suffer from depression, this is about 4.7% of the world's population, and depression is the leading cause of disability and a major contributor to «the global burden of disease ». Some of these people who experience feelings of depression have discovered that practicing yoga can help them experience a better everyday life. Purpose: To gain insight into how people with feelings of depression experience practicing yoga. Issue: How do women and men with depression experience practicing yoga? A holistic perspective. Method: The study has a qualitative research design with a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach. Five adults who experience depression and practice yoga participated in the study, recruited through a strategic committee. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted. The data were analyzed using Kirsti Malterud's "systematic text condensation" .Findings: Feeling of depression affects everyday life to a great extent. Practicing yoga can help participants cope with daily challenges, can contribute to a better self-image, can strengthen self-confidence and can increase the quality of life. Conclusion: Yoga practice can help people with depression. These findings in addition to previous research should encourage further research.
