dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this project is to examine three different outdoor adventurers on Instagram. The pictures and nature scenes are published with high quality. I seek to find how the people behind the accounts portray Norwegian nature and outdoor life on Instagram. The thesis is: "How do outdoor adventurers present their outdoor activity on Instagram? How can the content be linked to the formative dimensions of outdoor life and the special covid-19 summer?» A social semiotic text analysis based on the total of 14 Instagram posts, forms the starting point for the first part of the thesis. In the analysis the photographs are in focus because Instagram is mainly a photo sharing service. Meaningful resources are interpreted here, such as contextualization’s, sections, angles, word choices and more. The results end in a discourse description of adventurers. The adventure discourse is discussed against well-established educational dimensions to comparevalues and attitudes from traditional outdoor life to current practice. My research shows that the adventures differ from a regular tourist in several ways. By example showing mastery in several areas. Aesthetics and spectacular natural scenes are alsoa hallmark. The findings also indicate that the communicative choices are conscious to create a mediated identity. | en_US |
