Background: Norway’s increasing population, along with a growing number of older people and people in need of treatment, increases pressure for the emergency services. Pre-hospital Electronic Healthcare Record systems (P-EHR) are pointed out as an important part of the solution to increase quality and efficiency to the forthcoming challenges. Aim of study: The aim of this study is to collect data concerning the experiences of users and practitioners in ambulance services in Norway. There have been studies on this subject, but only on an organizational level, not in an individual perspective. The problem statement in this study is «What experiences do ambulance professionals and Paramedics have with use of P-EHR, and what suggestions do they have for the future P-EHR?». Keywords: Ambulance, EHR, EMR, emergency services, user-centered design.
