dc.description.abstract | This master's dissertation deals with an artistic development work where I explore the creation of music aimed atthe role-playing concept Dungeons & Dragons. As a research method, I have carried out autoethnographicmethods which have been further analyzed and discussed against relevant theory and empirical data. Part 1 presents varioussounds and music found in computer games and movies, as well as empirical data gained from playing various computergames. Furthermore, there is an overview of the procedure I used to create/collectcompositional sounds and effects, in addition to how they are set up in the program Ableton Live 10.Part 2 presents completed game events, where the self-composed music is tested with two different groups. These test-gamesare analyzedin addition to a descriptionof the game's narrative material. Here we see to what extent the music affects the participants' realization of the game, and the importance of interactivity in this form of music performance. | en_US |
