Background Family meals have a positive impact on the child's development of dietary habits, which in turn can affect the child's short-term and long-term health. Family meals have several health benefits, especially for the child's physical and mental development. Some research suggests that the frequency of family meals can be reduced if the mother has symptoms of depression or anxiety .In Norway, 8-10% of the population have significant symptoms of mental health problems. We know little about the relationship between parents' symptoms of anxiety and depression and the frequency of family meals. Purpose The purpose of this master thesis is to explore the relationship between mother's symptoms of anxiety and depression and children's participation in family meals.en_US
